The other forms sold as pan masala, flavoured Tobacco in attractive sachets, Khaini, Snuff are equally killer forms of tobacco.[1-4]

Health Hazards of Tobacco[2-4]

With 70+ known cancer-causing chemicals, it affects the organs of the heart, lungs, eyes, mouth, reproductive system, bones, bladder, and digestive system. In addition, nicotine increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, premature birth, obstructive pulmonary diseases, gastrointestinal complaints, hypertension, and many other complications.

I know, but ... how do I Quit?[4-8]

Quitting tobacco is not easy, but it is possible.

The prime motivation to quit tobacco is the long-term health benefits and the best gift to your loved ones.

1. Make a plan: Set a quit date, identify your triggers, and plan how to deal with cravings.

2. Seek support: Tell your friends and family about quitting tobacco and ask for their help. Consider joining a support group or talking to a counsellor.

3. Consider replacement therapy: Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products like gum, patches, and lozenges can help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

4. Try prescription medications: Your doctor may prescribe medications like bupropion or varenicline to help you quit tobacco. But no self-prescription, please.

5. Find healthy ways to cope with stress: Stress can trigger cravings, so it's essential to find beneficial coping methods, such as exercise, deep breathing, or meditation.

6. Avoid triggers: Avoid situations and people that make you want to use tobacco.

7. Keep yourself busy: Distract yourself with a new hobby, exercise, or other activities that occupy your mind and body.

8. Celebrate your success: Celebrate each milestone along the way and reward yourself for your hard work.
Remember, quitting tobacco may not be easy, but it is worth it for your Health, well-being, and your family. It may take several attempts to succeed. But don't give up and keep trying until you achieve your goal.

Let's start our journey towards a tobacco-free life TODAY!
