Healthy smiles start with tiny teeth

Healthy smiles start with tiny teeth(1,2,3)

Oral health is essential at every stage of life. A healthy mouth supports eating, speaking, and can enhance your smile. If you have young children, you can instill good dental habits early on.

Even before teeth appear, newborns have hidden dental structures beneath their gums.

Timeline for Toothcare

During Pregnancy

Maintain good oral hygiene—brush twice daily, floss, and schedule a dental check-up before your due date.

Before Teeth Emerge

Gently wipe your baby's gums twice a day with a soft, clean cloth.

Once Teeth Appear

Clean emerging teeth twice daily with a soft toothbrush.

Age 1

Schedule your child’s first dental visit and discuss fluoride options.

Ages 2 to 3

Brush your child's teeth with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste, assisting them twice daily until they master the technique.

Ages 7 to 8

Children can begin brushing and flossing on their own. Encourage a habit of brushing in the morning and before bed, occasionally checking their technique.
