Vitamin D is an important fat-soluble vitamin that aids in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the body, & supports the immune system. Surprisingly, a significant portion of the population are deficient in vitamin D.

You have a higher risk of deficiency if you: (3)

  • Reside in a region with elevated pollution levels.
  • People who stay indoors for prolonged periods.
  • People with darker complexion, which may result in reduced absorption of vitamin D due to higher levels of melaninin the skin.
  • Obese individuals & Older adults

In adults, symptoms may consist of fatigue, discomfort, depression & muscle or bone pain. This can manifest as various types of pain or weakness in the bones or muscles, as well as stress fractures.
