The fear of COVID-19 is taking over the world, which has caused uncertainty and anxiety among industries and businesses including the travel and tourism industry. The travellers have become very uncertain about flying. But even in times of uncertainty, many people have to travel across the globe. So, what should travellers do in such a case? First, do not panic and second, take necessary preventive measures.

Also, there are certain things that you need to keep in mind before you travel to stop this epidemic disease from spreading across the world. Plus, you should buy travel insurance before you start your journey.

Practices to Follow to Stop Spreading Coronavirus

1. Wash hands frequently

Washing your hands-on frequent time intervals is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself. Make sure to wash your hands before eating, after using the bathroom, after coughing and sneezing, after touching common surfaces, and after shaking hands with others. Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds. Washing hands frequently is important to keep germs and other microorganisms away. This practice does not only protect you from coronavirus but other contagious ailments.

2. Keep an alcohol-based hand-sanitizer along

It is very crucial to keep your hand-sanitizer along with your other belongings when you are on a journey. A hand-sanitizer cannot completely substitute water and soap, but in the scenario when these things are not available use a hand rub. The hand rub you use must contain at least 60% of alcohol. Keep a spare bottle of hand sanitizer in your bag along with one in your handbag.

3. Do Not Touch Your Face

Your hands touch many germ-ridden surfaces and when you touch your face the chances of entering the germs into the body enhances. Hence, the experts advise avoiding touching your face as long as possible. Most of the time you unconsciously touch your face; therefore, it is important that you stay aware and do not touch your mouth, nose and eyes.

4. Use Tissue While Coughing

Even if you have a common cough and cold, make sure to use a tissue or a handkerchief while coughing, and immediately dispose of the tissue. In the unavailability of tissue, cough or sneeze in the crook of your elbow, instead of using your hands. In case you are sitting with a passenger who is coughing or sneezing, it is advised for you to wear a mask to avoid the droplets entering your body. Hence, you need to carry a mask along too.

5. Wipe Down Your Seats and Personal Areas

The common and most-touched surfaces in the flight pose the high risks of contracting the infection. So, when you are on a flight, remember to wipe down the seats and surfaces that come into your area with alcohol-based wipes. Clean your screen, headrest, armrest, tray table and call button and other high-touch surfaces.

Personal hygiene is the key to stop spreading coronavirus. Besides, when you are planning to fly make sure you have to seek medical attention in emergencies.
