Mahindra Xylo was launched in the year 2009, and soon became one of the top-selling Mahindra cars in India. This MUV got its first facelift in the year 2012 and then in 2014. The updated version got a few internal and exterior updates with a tweaked suspension that enhanced the appearance of the car while making it more efficient than the older ones.

The new features include- new chrome strip on the hood, new alloys, new body decals, roof rails, revised tailgate with chrome garnish and a little-modified tail lights. The interior is made more comfortable, feature-rich and premium. It flaunts leather upholstery, dual-tone dashboard, revised instrument cluster, steering mounted audio and cruise controls, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Mahindra Xylo is powered by a 118bhp, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, and 93.7bhp, 2.5-litre mDI CRDe diesel engine. The engine comes mated with a five-speed manual gearbox. Xylo is one of the most fuel-efficient Mahindra cars. The car delivers a fuel economy of 12kmpl in city and 14kmpl on highways. A tweaked suspension has made the rides more comfortable and smooth. Even though the significant body roll affects its handling, it's entirely predictable.

The braking capabilities of Mahindra Xylo are pretty impressive. The MUV is equipped with robust front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Also, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) is available on a top-end model. These features avoid skidding and handle sudden braking situations with ease. For safety, the car is equipped with features like- central locking system, side impact bars, crumple zones, door open warning, child safety rear door locks, engine immobilizer, keyless entry, rear defogger, etc. You will also get Intellipark reverse assist and dual airbags on high-end variants.

Mahindra Xylo locks its horns with cars like- Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Tavera, Nissan Evalia, Chevy's Enjoy, Toyota Innova, and Tata Sumo Grande. This feature-rich MUV is available in 5 variants and six colors.
