Reliance General Insurance now provides specialised assistance for home insurance customers, similar to roadside assistance for motor insurance. CEO Rakesh Jain implemented this service after the Chennai floods, positioning the company as customers' first point of contact during emergencies.
These value-added services include connecting customers with electricians, concierge services and tax filing assistance. Roadside assistance is among the most common additional services offered by insurers. It provides on-the-spot help during accidents and even arranges alternative transportation for female drivers on highways.
Bajaj Allianz General Insurance offers accommodation benefits within its car insurance, covering hotel stays up to Rs 2,000 per person daily (a maximum of Rs 16,000 per policy period) when accidents occur over 100km from home and repairs exceed 12 hours.
