Swiggy has collaborated with Reliance General Insurance to provide tailored insurance plans for its 300,000 delivery partners. The initiative includes health insurance, personal accident coverage and mobile phone insurance, ensuring comprehensive financial and medical protection.
The health insurance covers outpatient treatments, hospitalisation and maternity benefits. The personal accident policy provides compensation for accidental death, permanent partial disability and a loss of income during temporary total disabilities. Additionally, damages to mobile phones caused by accidents are also covered.
Anand Singhi, Chief Distribution Officer of Reliance General Insurance, highlighted that this customised insurance plan addresses the unique needs of gig workers, offering timely healthcare access and financial security. This initiative represents a significant step in safeguarding Swiggy’s delivery workforce.
