The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway has extended the validity of driving license, registration and permits of documents of means of transportation that are about to expired on or after February 1, 2020. These documents will now be valid till June 30, 2020. In simple words, if the driving license of your vehicle is about to expire on or after February 1, 2020 then it will be only valid till June 30, 2020. However, the ministry has decided to give relief to the people who were facing difficulties in terms of renewing their vehicle’s or
car insurance due to closure of government offices. The validity of driving licenses and vehicle insurance will be further effective from September 1, 2019.
The ministry has said that the decision of extending driving licenses and motor vehicle insurance was taken to help people facing difficulties in order renew the validity of several vehicle documents because of national lockdown in the country and closing of the government transport offices. The ministry has also requested all the states to apply the advisory in “letter and spirit” so the common people, organizations, transporters delivering essential services may not face disturbances and difficulties in any condition.
